Tell me, what does your marketing strategy look like?
Is it comprehensive with many parts working as one to bring in the leads? Or is it more like whacking an ad in the newspaper and yelling at the numbers when they don’t grow?
I know that for a lot of people it’s leaning towards the latter.
Straight off the bat, marketing is complicated. There are heaps of different tools and methods you can use, and that can make it a little daunting.
Even more so if you’re not as up to date as you’d like to be on the latest tactics.
When we start talking about social media as an important tool in your marketing belt, we get a lot of marketers that give us the “...seriously?” eyes.
Yes, social media can be full of pictures of cats and memes - but it’s also a vital way to engage your audience and promote your business.
“But how!" You say.
To give you a bit of an idea, here are some ways that you can use social media in your marketing strategy.
Use it to Promote Your Content
The content that you have is like pure gold. If it gives value to your buyers, they’ll read it. They’ll learn from it. They’ll trust and bond with you. Then, when they’re ready to buy, BOOM! You’re the one they want to go to.
Now, how are they supposed to find that content if it’s buried within the depths of your website?
If they have to go look for it, they’re not going to read it.
Starting to catch my drift?
Social media is the perfect way to give your audience access to your content.
Post your blogs, site pages and downloadable content on your channels and watch as your consumers start to engage with it.
The brilliant thing about posting your content on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Google+ is that with every click, you’re bringing people back to your website. You’re encouraging them to learn more about you, and what you can offer them.
Even better, you can start to see which pieces of content they’re interested in. A blog that you thought was amazing might not speak to them as much as a different one - this is how you find out about it.
Use it as a Customer Service Tool
Today the ability to delight your audience with an amazing customer experience is an absolute must.
Short of emailing them all the time or calling them up, how do you do it?
Social media, of course!
Your social channels are the perfect place to interact and engage with your audience, building your relationship and trust.
It also gives people the opportunity to casually chat with your brand, posting a comment here or there about their experience. It opens your eyes to heaps of things - which products your consumers are loving or hating, if your shopping experience needs work and where your problem areas are.
Armed with this knowledge from your audience, you can shape your efforts to give them the best experience you can.
Use it to Test Your Theories
Everybody loves a good quiz or opinion poll - on social media especially!
What better way to test some of your thoughts and theories about your brand?
Got a new product that you’re thinking about launching? Wondering how you can improve your service? Want to know what bits your customers love most about you?
Hop onto your social media channels and ask! You could do a post asking for comments or likes, or even make a simple voting system on Facebook.
Remember, they who ask, get, and they who don’t, don’t.
The information you gather here can become vital to your future strategies. Marketing is all about the people, so running your thoughts by them is never a bad thing.
